I ran into this at work today while creating a new logo for BarCamp Orlando 2010 and noticed this question is a popular search on Google. I think this could be really useful if, for example, you created a vectorized icon set and wanted to make them available as a custom shape set as well. Luckily, the solution is a real piece of cake!
